2010 / FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Twin Brook Winery, Gap, PA, wins yet another medal in a second California Wine Competition this year.

Twin Brook Winery’s Octorara Rosé took a Silver Medal at the San Diego International Wine Competition held this past March in San Diego, CA.  The competition attracted over 2000 entries. The 31 judges were comprised of Winemakers and Wine Industry Professionals. As an award-winning wine, a donated case of Twin Brook’s Octorara Rosé will be available to taste and for purchase at the annual Wine & Roses charity wine tasting, June 13, 2010, at the Westgate Hotel in downtown San Diego, where the competition was held.  The Wine & Roses Charity Wine Tasting generates funds for Camp Oliver, a camp for children in San Diego County.

Twin Brook Winery’s Octorara Rosé, is a dry, non-vintage blend of the 2007 and 2008 Cabernet varietals.  The 2008 Cabernets were produced through the technique of Saignée, or bleeding the vats,  then blended with the 2007 Cabernets to produce a light bodied, slightly tannic, rosé wine

Twin Brook Winery’s 2008 Chardonnay Reserve received a Bronze Medal at the prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition earlier this year.

On January 8th, 2010, the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition concluded the annual week of judging at the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds in Sonoma County, California. Over five days, 63 professional wine experts within the media, restaurant and hospitality, education, winemaking and retail wine industries tasted and evaluated a world-record breaking 4,913 entries, a number that maintains the competition's status as the largest competition of American wines in the world.

Twin Brook Winery’s 2008 Chardonnay Reserve is a traditional style, medium    bodied wine that was slightly oaked in American Oak (specifically Pennsylvania Oak) barrels. A secondary, Malolactic fermentation enhanced the wine giving it a soft rounded finish.

Patrons to Twin Brook Winery are invited to taste these award-winning wines or any of the other of their family of fine wines, including varietals made from vinifera and hybrid grapes, as well as delicate blends. Offered is a selection of wine intended to appeal to nearly every palate.
